SUMMER SUPERBODIES – HOW IT ALL STARTED
Summer Superbodies is an independently-run bodybuilding and fitness event that aims to bring back the joy of competing to the sport of bodybuilding in South Africa.
Conceptualised and launched in 2016 by Ali Sultan and Mubeen Bassa – this dynamic duo identified a gap in the South African bodybuilding industry for an event that was centered around running an athlete-centric experience that benefits the athlete so that they may gleam both prestige as well as financial reward from competing. It is our mission to put on bodybuilding shows that allows for maximum enjoyment by both athletes as well as audience members.
HISTORY OF SUMMER SUPERBODIES
Since its inception in 2016, Summer Superbodies has become a well-known and established bodybuilding event on the South African bodybuilding calendar, consistently attracting bodybuilding competitors from novice athletes to experienced bodybuilding athletes. The event strives to promotes health and wellness through the sport of bodybuilding.
Summer Superbodies has become a cultural and social event, inspiring the spirit of social cohesion through our efforts to provide a platform for people from all walks of life to come together over the shared love of bodybuilding. As one of the larger shows on the SA bodybuilding calendar, Summer Superbodies has historically assisted in the growth and development of new talent in South African bodybuilding.
